Come to the 11th Annual O’tis a Festival! Join us on Saturday, November 23, 10am to 3pm, as Otis Library transforms into a two-floor holiday shopping plaza with a vast variety of handmade items and all-day entertainment.

O’tis a Festival is a wonderful community event. Celebrity parkers will line the street to welcome you and direct you to free nearby parking. Shop a variety of beautiful handmade items, visit with Santa, take a chance on winning a wreath or a unique gift made by one of our vendors, and enjoy the singing, dancing, crafts and free activities taking place throughout the day.

After leaving the library with your arms full of gifts, enjoy a meal at one of our many neighborhood restaurants. It’s a day full of fun for all ages!

Otis Library is located at 261 Main Street in Norwich and is accessible to people with disabilities.

You are invited to ‘A Leffingwell Christmas in the Colonies’ Open House on Sunday, Dec.8, from 1-4pm. Enjoy the history and tastes of the season. The main floor is decorated to reflect the Christmas celebrations of New England, the Southern Colonies and the evolution of our American Christmas. Appropriate regional tastes of the season will be served during your self-guided tour of the museum. Interpreters will be available in each room to answer questions and give holiday history. Enjoy a visit with President William Harrison as portrayed by reenactor Kevin Titus. Check out the Colonial wares of Big Bear Trading Company. While listening to vintage seasonal music played by talented pianist Dayne Rugh, browse the gift shop for special items as well as handmade and vintage tree decorations. Come with the family and enjoy the History, Tastes and Sounds of a Leffingwell Colonial Christmas. This event is FREE as a thank you to all the support we have received throughout the year.

Sail away to a place you’ve only been in your dreams: the magical world of Eastern Connecticut Ballet’s The Nutcracker.

Eastern Connecticut Ballet (ECB) will give its classic “Nutcracker” ballet a fresh spin this December with spectacular new scenery, additional special effects, and a setting that celebrates southeastern Connecticut’s seafaring past.

The family-friendly event features two stars from the renowned New York City Ballet (NYCB): Sara Mearns, often called “the great American ballerina of our time,” and Jared Angle, an artist with high acclaim in the world of dance. Guest artists from Miami City Ballet and no less than 100 professionally trained dancers from ECB will share the spotlight.

The curtain rises on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 1:30 and 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 9 at 1:30 p.m. A discount of 50% off regular ticket prices is offered to active military personnel and their families for the Saturday evening performance only. Contact the Box Office for details on this special offer.

Where do our minds and spirits travel when the weight of everyday life becomes an unbearable load to carry? “A(Way) Out of My Body,” investigates the out-of-body experience as related to intergenerational trauma, and the mental burden and physical impact of surviving personal adversity. David Dorfman and his company of dancers and musicians weave together a memorable evening of dance, live music, and theater, where audiences can explore and realize their own joyous capacity to overcome physical and societal limitations.
