Come dance with us! Eastern Connecticut Ballet is offering free trial classes for new students in January at the East Lyme and Old Saybrook locations.

Now in its 28th year, ECB offers outstanding dance programs for both children and adults, and is known as the home of classical ballet training in the heart of eastern Connecticut. Whether it is an introduction for young children, or a return to dance for experienced adults, students will enjoy sampling classes and exploring movement with our experienced faculty.

ECB offers Ballet (ages 3 through pre-professional and adults), Pointe, Character, Modern, and Jazz classes. The Auxiliary of Lawrence + Memorial (L + M) Hospital is holding a Valentine Dance on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 7:00 P.M. – 11:00 P.M. at the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa in Groton, CT with music by The Cartells. The night will include a silent auction, a Chinese auction, and cash bar. Cocktails from 7:00 – 7:30 and a plated dinner served at 7:30. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 if purchased at the door. Major sponsors include Yale New Haven Health. Proceeds to benefit Heart Health and other Auxiliary Programs. Dance the night away and have fun for a good cause! The Auxiliary of Lawrence + Memorial Hospital is a distinguished, non-profit charitable organization that was founded over 100 years ago. Its mission is to support the Hospital in its efforts to improve the health of our region. Revenue to support various programs and departments in the Hospital is generated from fundraisers throughout the year. The Helping Hand Program, Breast Health Sciences Library, Emergency Department, Patient Relations, Child Life Department, Pediatric Department and Cardiac Rehabilitation are just a few of the many. Where do our minds and spirits travel when the weight of everyday life becomes an unbearable load to carry? “A(Way) Out of My Body,” investigates the out-of-body experience as related to intergenerational trauma, and the mental burden and physical impact of surviving personal adversity. David Dorfman and his company of dancers and musicians weave together a memorable evening of dance, live music, and theater, where audiences can explore and realize their own joyous capacity to overcome physical and societal limitations.
